No layer is more simple and versatile during the “Are my toes still there?” months than a down vest. And, as we showed you a few weeks ago, there are a host of awesome ones being cranked out at all prices this season. Last week, I snagged this slim-fit Patagonia puffer and have barely took it off since. Friday, I wore it over a sweater; Saturday, I threw it on over a tee for a little bar-crawling; and today, I zipped it up with a button-down. Because it’s black, it has a bit of a citified feel. I’m a guy who tries to get his ass out in nature when he can though, so I like knowing it can take a beating when I make it hiking or fishing come Spring.
